Steve became the youngest branch manager for Helios in Port Elizabeth. After winning the most improved branch award, he was transferred to Johannesburg where he managed the most profitable branch in the country. He was then promoted to marketing executive and was responsible for launching Océ Copiers (now part of Canon) and assisted with the launch

of Minolta Copiers in South Africa.

Next, Steve joined Sage Limited as marketing director. In his fourth year, he was handing over one new house, for every working hour of every working day in the year.

In 1982 he was part of the team that launched KreditInform, building it into South Africa’s largest business-to-business credit management solutions company. It was sold to Experian in 2008.

In 1989 he founded Matrix Marketing, which, after 34 years is still the premier supplier of business intelligence in South Africa, supporting sales teams in the business to business environment and ensuring that they are seeing the right people, in the right companies, in order to reach sales targets.

Steve is also a founder of the Iconic Group, with its primary business being Escalator Advertising. He is married, with two children and two grandchildren. His hobbies include gym, photography and motorcycles and he has served on the Vintage Motorcycle Club of South Africa committee for many years.
